is regulated by the state law (Maharashtra Public Trusts Act ) under Section 35 and under central law (Income tax Act ) under Section 11(5). Both laws prohibit investments in stocks and shares.
However, Income tax Act allows investing in shares of public sector companies. The creation of religious charitable trusts is governed by the personal laws of the religion.
